Pocket Informant 7.0 Released

30 08 2006

I am quite happy to announce the final release of Pocket Informant 2007! We’ve worked pretty hard with this release and have some amazing things to talk about. First is that Pocket Informant 2007 now works directly with Franklin Covey Plan Plus for Outlook 4.0. Pocket Informant 2007 adds several new Franklin Covey Plan Plus for Outlook 4.0 (PPO) features such as the Daily Tasks, Master Tasks, Projects, Task Status, Percentage Completion, and Daily Notes. These features work perfectly within Pocket Informant without PPO. However for these features to sync up to the desktop you need to have PPO version 4.0. PPO 4.0 ships with the sync conduit which syncs this data to the desktop.

Second is just how well integrated the new features within PI 2007 are – here are some highlights:

NEW! Daily Notes
NEW! Franklin Covey Daily, Master, and Project views and synching with Plan Plus for Outlook 4.0.

UBiQUiO PRePs SLiMLinE qwerty KEyBoaRD SMaRT PhONe

23 08 2006
Mobile device retailer Expansys has begun taking orders for the upcoming UBiQUiO 501 slimline Windows Mobile 5.0 smart phone. And no, that mix of capitals and lower-case characters isn’t a byproduct of typing the vendor’s name on its device’s QWERTY micro-keyboard.

The handset is based on a 200MHz Texas Instruments OMAP 750 processor with 64MB of RAM and 128MB of ROM. It’s got a 2.5in, 320 x 240, 65,536-colour display and a two megapixel camera. Carrier connectivity is limited to tri-band GSM/GPRS, but the 501 also has 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 1.2 on board – the latter with wireless stereo support.

i-mate announced the HTC Breeze as i-mate SP JAS

23 08 2006

Another “JAS” device from i-mate – this time the SP JAS. Basically, the i-mate SP JAS is based on HTC’s Breeze Windows Mobile Smartphone reference design and therefore it features Windows Mobile 5.0 and – even more important – WCDMA/UMTS (single band 2100 MHz only). Furthermore it’s supporting triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 900/1800/1900 MHz as well as Bluetooth 1.2 and is powered by a 300 MHz Samsung CPU, sporting 128 MB RAM and 64 MB ROM. And for sure it has the 1.3 megapixel camera (without photo light) on the back side.
So far, the specs are identically to HTC’s own retail version – the HTC MTeoR . However, while HTC has removed the front facing video telephony camera from its MTeoR, i-mate has decided to add it (as Dopod did as well for the Dopod 595) and therefore the SP JAS includes a second front facing CIF camera for video telephony.

Google Calendar "mobile"

23 08 2006

i-mate JASJAM – A NEW Superstar

23 08 2006

The shiny JASJAM (HTC Hermes) is here. Within the elegantly curved shell, you’ll find quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band 3G connectivity, a Samsung 400MHz CPU, 64MB RAM, 128MB ROM, integrated 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 1.2, a 2.0-megapixel camera and secondary camera for video calling, a 2.8″ QVGA display, a microSD slot, a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and Windows Mobile 5.0. You could say this is everything the K-JAM should have been, and more. Well, aside from the meagre memory configuration, of course.
