Freedom Mini Bluetooth Keyboard for Cellphones Finally Available

We remember wanting a piece of this Freedom Mini action way back when it was announced last year, but not being able to find it anywhere. But good news shoppers, it’s finally available from X-TremeGeek for $84.97.

To recap, the Freedom Mini is a Bluetooth mini-keyboard for cellphones and PDAs that don’t have a built-in keyboard. It’s about the length and width of a credit card, but the thickness of five credit cards. Check their site for a complete list of compatible devices.

HTC to End Relations With O2 and i-mate

It’s no surprise that i-mate is now making its own devices: they have little choice. News out today from Cnet reveals that HTC has made a move to purchase Dopod and cut ties with O2 and i-mate. Does this create ample opertunity for there to be an HTC competitor to take on contracts with O2 and i-mate? Are the two companies better off designing their own devices?

Launching Symbian-smartphones has always been some kind of an event for Sony Ericsson, since these products became leaders of the line and at the same time best products in their classes. And often they had no copies when speaking about a touchscreen for Symbian devices especially, let alone other functions. And under such conditions, for the company of Sony Ericsson launching a bestseller with long life circle becomes vitally important. Now the company cannot release many various devices due to problems with production capacity and shortage of manpower. And due to the influence of the tails about Harry Potter the product got the name of Hermione.

Zune Phone Likely in the Future

A Zune phone could take two routes: have its own interface that is media centric, or adopt Windows Mobile, perhaps as a special “media” edition. The Windows Mobile media edition scenario would seem more likely, since developing a separate media-centric phone interface would imply that Microsoft is making it OK for there to be a phone OS of choice other than Windows Mobile. Since the next version of WM, Photon, is still in early development, it could be an ample opportunity to build a WM variant that would be suited towards the unique controls and media functionality of Zune.
